Callander Target Sports Club

About Callander Target Sports Club
Callander Target Sports Club was founded in 1909 when Field Marshal Lord Roberts found that the Boers were better shots than the British Army during the Boer war.
Today the club is affiliated to the National Small-bore Rifle Association (NSRA), the Scottish Small Bore Rifle Association (SSRA) and the Scottish Pistol Association (SPA)
The benefits of these affiliations is that if you wish to hold a Firearms Certificate (FAC) for target shooting you must be a Full Member of a Home Office Approved Club. The NSRA is the national governing body for all Small-bore Rifle and Pistol Target Shooting in the United Kingdom, including Air gun Shooting.
The club has two multi-function ranges, with wheelchair access and can cater for handicapped shooters.
The main range measures 25 meters and is primarily used for .22 rim fire disciplines although it is officially approved for larger caliber weapons including black powder. This range is also utilized for .22 air rifle shooting and gallery type shooting, which is now becoming very popular. We also have a small group who use this range for knife throwing.
The other range is a 10 meter air discipline range with electrically operated targets and is used by youngsters starting of in shooting as well as older established competitors. Please note that the permissible caliber of air guns used in this range is .177.
We have access to an outdoor 50 meter and 100 yard range based in the Aberfoyle area.
